A DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is an error code generated by your vehicle's ECU when it detects a malfunction. These codes start with P (Powertrain), B (Body), C (Chassis) or U (Network).
You need an OBD2 scanner plugged into your vehicle's OBD2 connector (usually under the dashboard). The scanner reads codes stored in the ECU and displays them.
Code P0101 (Mass Air Flow sensor) is moderately serious. It can cause high fuel consumption and loss of power. Cleaning or replacing the MAF sensor is usually needed.
